I spent a full weekend helping The Barbershop Harmony Society – a seventy-eight year old organization that has promoted, taught and celebrated harmony singing—to plan and strategize about where their organization is going. There were big questions to address and divergent opinions to weave together.
Usually at the end of such a planning experience, people can feel (and look) wrung out – including me the facilitator. Yet looking at the pictures of this group, everyone was glowing. What could account for this?
Throughout the three days of hard work, we took frequent breaks for singing – singing in harmony!
So the question for all of us is this:
What makesyouglow?
What gives you the energy to do what you need to do?
Is it time alone or time with others?
Singing, playing baseball, building a Habitat for Humanity or something else?
Collaborating or noodling a problem alone?
This week pay attention to what makes you glow.
Can’t wait to hear what you discover!
Until next Tuesday.
